  • We have high expectations for all pupil, and take responsibility for their progress.
  • We develop a curriculum that is innovative, inspiring and fun, as well as broad and balanced.
  • We celebrate all achievements.
  • We include and value everyone in our community.
  • We understand that all behaviour is a form of communication.
  • Have solution focused approach to create a positive school culture.

Sports Premium Funding is provided to each school to improve the provision of PE and sports with the emphasis upon the primary aged pupils. It is also required to build sustainable capacity and skills.

For this academic year the school received £13120, this is spent supporting the teaching of sports, and the use of local facilities. We have a team of sports coaches who work alongside our PE coordinator Sarah Fisk. The use of the specialist coaches develops the abilities of the staff to support the pupils in physical activities, as well as enhancing the pupil to staff ratios.  The engagement of pupils requires high levels of adult intervention, and we are increasing the skills of the staff to engage the pupils as they work alongside specialists. As our Teaching Assistants move around the school it is important to keep the specialist support across the school.

We have specialist support for EYFS and on our main site for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. To build upon the previous years attainment the sports coaches also support a weekly session for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 within the Sports & Leisure Centre in Bury St. Edmunds.

Within the academic year 2017/18 we have seen sustained progress not only in PE and sports but in pupil's ability to engage. This is crucial to supporting learning in all areas.
